About City Machine
Automotive engine rebuilders. Machining and rebuilding foreign, domestic, performance, diesel and industrial engines (Caterpilla, Perkins, Cummins, Detroits, Isuzu, Jasper, JCB, and more). However, while rebuilding engines is one of many things we do. We also rebuild carburetors, cut flywheels, machine heads, press work, and more. As an automotive machinist I build what the customers wants, not what the friends tell them to build or their family. Not everyone wants a high performance motor, some individuals just want a motor that will keep trucking down the road with no worries. We pride ourselves on satisfying our customers and making sure they walk away happy.

I was doing a rebuild on a 2000 GMC Sierra with the 4.8L Vortec, and I encountered technical difficulties installing the cam bearings. Since the project vehicle is also my work truck, I didn't have a convenient way to transport the block. Sebastian really went above and beyond by both picking up the block and delivering it for the install, and it included same day turnaround. The cam turns smoothly and the cam bearings are oriented correctly. The price was also very reasonable. I'd recommend this shop without hesitation. I'll definitely be using them for my personal projects going forward.

Was referred to City Machine by a friend. I took my 2.4 motor and head in to get cleaned and reassembled and to install new rods, pistons, bearings etc... And also to get the head gone through and cleaned and all reassembled. I dropped my head/motor/parts off in August of 2024, and they gave me a completion date of October 2024 and had to go pick it up in April 2025 because they kept giving me the run around. They were able to install new sleeves in the block and polish and balance the crankshaft I had. But that's all they did in the 8 months or so that they had my parts. The guys that work here are good people it seems like but I think they may just take in more work than they can handle and probably put other customers in line first ahead of others. As for me I will not be going back here or referring anyone because of this bad experience I have had.

Brought my 5.3l 06 Chevy Silverado heads in for work and Cruz and his team did an awesome job. They look great. The price was very reasonable, better than a set of re-furnished heads online. Thank you. Can’t wait to get them installed.
